Dr. LaVictoire's home town is Aurora, NC. Completion of undergraduate studies, enrollment, and a move to Atlanta GA to attend what is now the country's largest chiropractic college http://life.edu occurred as a result of my obvious interest in chiropractic but also a desire to learn more of how the human body functions. A year and a half associate position in Atlanta and Savannah lead me back to Beaufort County and Washington.
My children are Leslie, a senoir at ECU who is preparing for a health management career, and Perry who graduated from WHS in June 2009. I live my life the way I ask my patients to live: rest, exercises and proper nutrition. REST: I need approximately six and
half to seven hours of rest. EXERCISE:Perfuse sweating such as summer time activities or strengthening and cardio-exercise is what I have found that keeps one feeling fresh http://fitnessunlimitednc.com . PROPER NUTRITION: Home cooked meals with fresh fruit and vegetables including proper portions are the right thing to do.I consistently ask patients to shop from the produce department and leave a little crunch in your lightly steamed vegetables. One of the hardest suggestions to follow is resting once one is injured. It is very difficult to not do what we would normally be doing. It takes mental toughness to let life's responsibilities be put on hold when nursing an injured mid to low back. It is also difficult to sit properly when resting an injured cervical spine.I think we've seen how pain can be a good motivator but it takes knowing the correct procedure along with professional and family support to really achieve optimum speed in your recovery.

Team Members
Darlene Blount has been on staff since 2005. She received her degree from BCCC. Her original hometown is Swan Quarter NC(Hyde Co).She now resides in Beaufort County. She has two sons and a grandson.
As an insurance specialist, Darlene will try to answer any insurance questions pertaining to chiropractic services. If she doesn't have the answer, she will take necessary steps to retreive the answer and relay it to you. Also as a CA she will often assist Dr. LaVictoire with therapys.
